I get all kind of inbox stuff to help me keep the positive outlook on life that I normally have day to day. This is from my Mr. Positive. I've seen this in a fwd. before but what a good little reminder=)
One day an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and,
to drive home a point, used an illustration those students will never forget. As he stood
in front of the group of high powered overachievers he said, "Okay, time for a quiz."
He pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouthed Mason jar and set it on the table in front
of him. Then he produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them,
one at a time, into the jar. When the jar was filled to the top and no more rocks
would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?"
Everyone in the class said, "Yes."
Then he said, "Really?" He reached under the table and pulled out a bucket of gravel.
Then he dumped some gravel in and shook the jar causing pieces of gravel to work
themselves down into the space between the big rocks. Then he asked the group
once more, "Is the jar full?"
By this time the class was on to him. "Probably not," one of them answered. "Good!"
he replied.
He reached under the table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping
the sand in the jar and it went into all of the spaces left between the rocks
and the gravel. Once more he asked the question, "Is this jar full?"
"No!" the class shouted.
Once again he said, "Good." Then he grabbed a pitcher of water and began to pour it
in until the jar was filled to the brim. Then he looked at the class and asked,
"What is the point of this illustration?"
One eager beaver raised his hand and said, "The point is, no matter how full your
schedule is, if you try really hard you can always fit some more things in it!"
"No," the speaker replied, "That's not the point. The truth this illustration teaches
us is: If you don't put the big rocks in first, you'll never get them in at all."
What are the 'big rocks' in your life? Your children; Your loved ones; Your education;
Your dreams; A worthy cause; Teaching or mentoring others; Doing things that you love;
Time for yourself; Your health; Your significant other?
Remember to put these BIG ROCKS in first or you'll never get them in at all. If you
sweat the little stuff (the gravel, the sand) then you'll fill your life with little
things you worry about that don't really matter, and you'll never have the real
quality time you need to spend on the big, important stuff (the big rocks).
So, tonight, or in the morning, when you are reflecting on this short story, ask
yourself this question: What are the 'big rocks' in my life? Then, put those in
your jar first."

The Rainbows Right Around the Corner

The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain

Toast of the Day
Here's to the rain that brings green and rainbows.
*The above was based on the Awe-Manac.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today has been rainy with a little thunder. I love days like this because then I don't have to feel guilty about not being outside and enjoying the nice day and can be inside getting things done. We are headed to the cities on Sunday to be with my cousin Tricia who has faced yet another heartbreak. Why are boys so dumb sometimes. One would think by the age of 31 They'd grow up a little. I'm just so super blessed to have found a good one! I will be there through the 24th. When I come back I job hunt.

Quote(s) of the week
When it rains on your parade, look up rather than down. Without the rain, there would be no rainbow.
~G.K Chesterton
Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.

A happy heart is like good medicine, but a broken spirit drains your strength.

Hi Everyone!
We have finally been able to hit the water some. This summer has not been the summer to sit poolside on most days. Yesterday we finally got to bring Amber to Door County. We ate at Al Johnsons (the place with the goats on the roof) and hung out at the beach in fish creek. It was a beautiful day up until 430ish when the clouds started rolling in. We finished the day with some custard and headed home. This is suppose to be the weekend that Amber goes back but I haven't heard from Deane in weeks after leaving many msgs. We are just enjoying every moment we can with her and are prepared for whatever happens. Today I plan to clean out the garage for the countless time this summer and straighen up the house that tends to never stay in order. Amber has a "band" with her friends and they've been working on their "concert" =D 10cents for whomever wants to come!
My plan is to find a job here in Green Bay instead of traveling the distance for the Farm Inn . I loved working there but it makes more sense that I'd stay in town. Amber and I tried out a new church this past Sunday and we both loved it and I'm hopeful I've finally found a church home for here.
Anyhoo, not much to report on but I'll continue to keep y'all updated on Amber and on my job search.
Keep enjoying what little bit of summer there is left!

Not everyone should be able to have children!
Today while at the pool, we stopped by the concession stand to grab a couple goodies. In front of us is 2 gals, and aprox 5 kids. Then entire time they are screaming at their kids to "GET OVER HERE" and "DON'T DO THAT" If your children are doing something you don't like ASK them to stay by you and if they don't step out of line and deal with the situation! Anyhoo there was a little girl there about age 3 who kept spitting on the ground where others are obviously walking around barefoot. Could the mother of asked her not to do that out of respect for everyone else?? I'm just baffled sometimes at the strange parenting.

Nikon's Digital Camera is the First with a Projector
Growing up my parents never had prints, just slides that we watched from a humming projecter on a screen they owned. I think it would be super fun to share this way of looking at pictures with friends and family as well! I must save the money...maybe in 5 years when the price goes down.
